More than a billion dollars spent by the inhabitants of Israel on gambling in 2017

About 4 billion shekels were spent by the inhabitants of Israel in 2017 to buy lottery tickets and betting in sweepstakes, which at the current exchange rate corresponds to 1.11 billion US dollars.

Referring to the data published last Thursday by the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel.

State gambling ("Mifal a - Pais" and "Toto") absorbs, minus the winnings, 6.5% of the total costs of Israelis in the article "culture, leisure and sport". On average, an Israeli citizen, including infants, spends about 500 shekels a year on gambling. This is more than the cost of printed products, including books, and almost as much as is spent on computers and the Internet.

Earlier it was reported that a tax of up to 25% would be levied in Israel on income with a crypto currency.

Recall also that the bookmaker GBI sued the government of Israel after the ban on horse racing.

It also became known that five casinos plan to open in Israeli Eilat.
